My only question is whether to buy a second one. It is simple and elegant, and, as advertised, adds light to a dark corner. It's soft, yellow light. I'm very happy with the purchase, and think it was a good value for the price.Replaced old school torchiere with this new old school torchiere . CFL bulb comes with. I got a 3 setting one to brighten up when necessary which puts the bulb a bit over the top of shade not noticeable when sitting & no big deal. It looks beautiful in our little cottage. I assembled while on the phone with BFF & sent link to a couple friends. Good communication from seller-much appreciated!The lamp was as described, although the plastic socket that holds the bulb cracked in half when I tightened the plastic socket ring holding the shade in place. Two BIG problems: 1. Packaging was the old-fashioned styrofoam that shreds all over the place making a complete mess. Had I known it would be packaged this way I wouldn't have placed the order. Almost no companies use that kind of styrofoam any more since there's a newer kind that doesn't shred. 2. Almost impossible to get the sticker off the the top of lamp near the switch and not easy to hide because once all the pieces are screwed tightly into place the part with the ugly sticker faces the room! I finally managed to remove it but it took almost an hour of hard work! Too bad because otherwise it's a nice lamp.Awesome lamp. Easy to assemble. Goes perfect with my decor and in my living room. So glad to have found this style because the same type of lamp but with a regular shade from WORLD MARKET was delivered defective and I had to return it.
